Artificial Intelligence, Translation Applications and Cognitive Dependency in French Language Learning: A Digital Wellbeing Perspective

Dr. Gagandeep

Vol. No. 21, Special Issue No 2 2026

Abstract:

The increasing use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies has transformed the field of language education in recent years. In French language learning, students frequently depend on translation applications, AI-powered writing tools and online educational platforms for understanding texts, completing assignments and improving communication skills. While these technologies offer accessibility and flexibility, excessive dependence on them can gradually create cognitive dependency and negatively affect students’ digital wellbeing.
