Evidence Synthesis in Ayurveda: Methodological Pathways for Review Articles

Dr. Shweta Chaudhary, Dr. Kuldeep

Vol. 22, Issue 1, Jul-Dec 2026

Abstract:

Evidence synthesis underpins modern health research, informing clinical practice, policy, and academic development. However, most review methodologies have evolved within biomedical frameworks that prioritize standardized interventions and measurable outcomes, which may not fully align with traditional systems such as Ayurveda. Ayurveda research spans classical texts, theoretical foundations, individualized clinical practice, and whole-system approaches, generating diverse forms of evidence. This plurality necessitates context-sensitive review design selection. The present study aimed to develop a structured, domain-sensitive framework to guide appropriate evidence synthesis in Ayurveda.
